The new version of the avast review window is fresh and clear, with sections for every tool in the suite. However, the large amount of white space resulted in some features being hidden; the homepage offers you quick shortcuts to run scans or turn on the VPN for example, and there are links to a few less-than-util system optimisation tools, too however, the majority of features of the program are hidden in the Explore tab. The installation process is simple and smooth and you’re not forced into a subscription upgrade, although the initial scan will reveal “advanced issues” that can page only be addressed with a premium subscription.
